Wire Pumpkins...courtesy of Dollar Tree!

I'm joining the "Under $10 and Under 1 Hour" party over at 320 Sycamore with these easy-peasy wire pumpkins using wire from Dollar Tree.
The inspiration comes from Jessica @ Mad in Crafts.

They are so quick and easy to put together...

Using this floral wire from Dollar Tree (comes in several different colors), wrap it around a cylinder shape of your choice - a toilet paper roll, a prescription bottle, a hairspray bottle, etc. Whatever you have on hand.
The smaller the cylinder, the smaller yet more full your pumpkin will be.
I used a can of air freshener for the larger pumpkin and a prescription bottle for the smaller pumpkin.
Remove the coil from the cylinder and using a twist tie (reuse the twist ties that come with the wire!), tie the middle of the coil together.
Leave some excess wire out to make the twisty stem of the pumpkin.
Then pull the wire around to round out the pumpkin shape.
You can get a picture tutorial of this process over at Mad in Crafts.

Aren't they so cute?
(please excuse the dusty shelf...)

$1 for each pumpkin.
Maybe 5 minutes to put together.
Definitely Under $10 and Under 1 Hour!
Thanks for the inspiration Jessica!

I think I'll go dust that shelf now...

Favorite Things

Just a few of my favorite things lately...

Scented wax for my Scentsy warmer for $2 a piece at Wal-Mart. Better Homes and Gardens brand near the candles. Mmm...makes the house smell fresh and clean.

Going to Sonic during Happy Hour and finding a free 44 oz. drink offer on the bottom of my receipt! Always check the bottom of your Sonic receipts for this survey offer - your carhop won't necessarily mention it to you. Gotta love happy hour and free drinks!

Donating stuff to Goodwill and getting a 30% off coupon to use at Gap.
Hmm...getting rid of stuff but being tempted to buy more stuff ;)

White Dishes. Love them. Have a slight addiciton to collecting them.
I'm not sure why it took me so long to realize their versatility.

This is no surprise to you - finding a good deal at a garage sale.
I found this 5 piece suit (jacket, pants, white shirt, vest, tie) for Spencer at a garage sale and snatched it up for $3. It is in perfect condition. The woman said her son only wore it once for a family portrait. AMAZING!

I am IN LOVE with this patio decor from Centsational Girl. L-O-V-E.
Maybe someday I will have a space like this... sigh.
You can see the entire patio HERE.

What are your favorite things lately?

Baby Girl Inspiration

I wanted to share some of the inspiration I have been collecting for baby girl davis's nursery. While I don't have a space to decorate as a nursery yet, a girl must be prepared for these things right?

I struggle a little with the color pink. It is not my favorite-especially pastel pink. I don't wear pink, I don't decorate with pink, I don't gravitate towards pink in any way. But nothing says "little girl" better than pink. It is starting to grow on me. I love this crib bedding:
I love all the different shades of pink combined with green.

Here's a look at some of the pages I have collected from Pottery Barn Kids catalogs. You can sign up to get the Pottery Barn Kids catalog for free HERE. I may not be able to afford Pottery Barn prices but I love to get inspiration from the beautifully decorated rooms they feature.

I LOVE pink when paired with green! And I love the chandelier hanging above the crib...

Isn't that bed skirt gorgeous? I like that pink and blue color together too.

Aren't those canopies cute?

I could see modifying the no-sew canopy/mosquito net I made HERE to look like one of these...hmmm....

I'm not sure if you can see that adorable lamp, but the pink roses all over the lampshade would be SO easy to recreate.

I love the wreath of flowers suspended over the crib like a mobile.

The tissue pom poms hanging from the branches are so fun and whimsical.

Some more nursery inspiration can be found HERE. I am completely in love with this nursery even though it is very different from my style. Maybe it is the neutral color palate that I love? I'm not sure, but it is absolutely gorgeous and really looks like it could be featured in the pages of a Pottery Barn catalog!

I am looking forward to decorating for a baby girl and I will of course keep you updated on any projects I attempt to recreate.
