Are you ready for some football? Food that is...

Here is the spread from our Texas Tech vs. A&M football game party.
Tech lost, but the food was definitely a winner!

Table centerpiece:
The Football Subway Art can be found HERE and is available in other colors too.
Dollar Tree hurricanes adding some red candy color to the table

I was so excited to find Texas Tech plates and napkins in the clearance bin at the grocery store for 50 cents a package!

I picked up these cute red and black pom pom toothpicks in the dollar spot at Target.
They make my sausage balls look really festive!

Here's a rundown of the menu:
A big crockpot of chili
chips and queso/salsa
sausage balls
apples picked from the apple orchard with caramel dip
"Elizabeth's 1st prize at the fair" cookie bars (recipe coming soon!)
spinach artichoke dip - courtesy of Joanna
red velvet brownies - courtesy of Roxanne
bread bowl dip - courtesy of my mom
(I will share the recipe for this soon! It is always a winner!)
chocolate chip cookies - courtesy of Shanna
Puppy chow - courtesy of Roxanne
veggie tray - courtesy of the Cluff family
tamales - courtesy of my mother-in-law

As you can tell, we had a TON of food! But it was oh so delicious!
What food do you like to eat for football watchin' / tailgating?

Football = Food

More pictures of food for you!
This was our weekend spread for the big Texas Tech vs. Texas game.
I didn't watch much of the game and Tech lost, but for me it is all about the food!
What is your favorite food to eat during a football game?
(No seriously, I want to know...that means leave a comment...please :) )

The Red and Black table

Chili and Fritos for Frito Pie
I had to spin it as Frito Pie instead of chili since it is still hot here in Texas.
Mmm...nothin' like a big pot of chili to feed a crowd in the fall!
You can find my favorite chili recipe HERE.
(I do modify this recipe quite a bit to be more tailored to our family's tastes)

Red Velvet cupcakes
Gotta support the Red and Black theme...

Blue Corn Chips (which look more black than blue...)
with queso, salsa, and quacamole

to support the Red and Black:
Hot Tamales
Twizzlers Pull and Peel
and
Red Vines

Smore Marshmallow Pops
(Sidenote: I found a bag of these jumbo size marshmallows at the grocery store a week ago. I was so intrigued by them and quickly snatched them up, even though I had no idea what I was going to do with them! Then I came across an idea, which I can't find where I found it now-sorry, to dip marshmallows in chocolate and roll them in crushed graham crackers. I knew that this would be great for my giant marshmallows!)

A great way to keep soda cold if you don't have axcess to a cooler or you don't need to fill up a whole cooler with drinks and ice. Or you don't have a fun metal, beverage tub/container. Use a metal baking pan full of ice to keep your drinks cold...

Go Tech!

Football Food

Yesterday was the first day of Texas Tech football! Of course, to me, football means food so we had to start the season off right. I mingled in some of the tastes of fall as well, to give us that autumn feeling! If you are interested in any of these recipes, leave me a comment with your email and the recipe you would like and I will email it to you. I hope football season finds you enjoying good food too! Texas Tech won the game against SMU by the way... 35 to 27.

Pepperoni Pizza Twist

Apples with caramel dip

Peanut Butter Popcorn

Pigs in a Blanket

Touchdown Taco Dip

Snickerdoodle Cupcakes
(modeled beautifully by my new $1 garage sale cake plate!)

My favorite cupcake shop here in town, Cake, makes the best Snickerdoodle Cupcakes. I was on a mission to find a good snickerdoodle cupcake recipe. This one is very good, and according to Jeremy, is better than the Cake one. I think Cake's is just a tad bit better...maybe its because I don't have to make the Cake version?
